Hi! I’m Jordan 👋

I am a molecular biologist turned bioinformatician and AI engineer based in Cambridge, UK. My work spans fungal biotechnology, functional genomics, computational biology, and applied AI. I build bioinformatics pipelines, genome analysis workflows, and AI-assisted research tools that help turn complex biological data and literature into useful scientific insight.

What I work on:

  • Functional and comparative genomics
  • Fungal biotechnology and microbial genomics
  • Genome assembly, annotation, and analysis
  • Reproducible bioinformatics pipelines
  • AI-assisted research tools and natural-language interfaces to data

news

Apr 14, 2026 I’m in Belfast this week, attending the Microbiology Society Annual Conference 2026, where I’ll be chairing the Plant-Pathogen Interactions session.
Mar 20, 2026 I developed a new Nextflow pipeline for the Crop Transformation team this week. PolySNiP-nf was designed to quantify CRISPR-mediated mutations in polyploid genomes.
Dec 01, 2025 University of Cambridge MPhil student Gideon Darko started in the lab today. He’ll be characterising biocontrol activity of yeasts against common plant fungal pathogens.
Sep 29, 2025 Matt Shaw, PhD student from the University of Kent, is joining my lab for a 12 week placement, where he’ll be working on phenotypic and genotypic characterisation of Fusarium wheat isolates from the field.
Sep 10, 2025 I will be attending the British Society for Plant Pathology Annual Conference, where I’ll be presenting a poster on our comparative genomics work on the lettuce pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lactucae.
